Lions are members of the world's largest service organization. We are 1.3 million men and women in nearly 46,000 clubs, in over 200 countries and geographical areas dedicated to helping others. We come from all walks of life - plumbers, teachers, business owners - but we work together for a common cause of service.
We believe in
giving back - that's why 100% of all donated funds goes back towards our causes.
We cover all our internal administrative costs from our own dues.
We have a rich heritage that is nearly a century old, and are renowned the world over for our distinguished service. Recently, Lions Clubs International Foundation was rated the number one Non-Governmental Organization in the world by the Financial Times and the United Nations. And in 2008, Lions Clubs International was also nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize for our global efforts.
And we do all this while we're having fun! Our meetings, fundraisers, and service projects are always filled with smiles and laughter. When we get together to work on an activity, we quickly forget that we're working. When we meet other Lions for the first time, we treat them as good friends.
